“We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”
Voice of Community & Environmental Rights Initiative (VOICER) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing human dignity, environmental justice, and sustainable development across Nigeria. While our mission is built on over 12 years of foundational grassroots work, we officially began formal operations in 2023.
Currently active across 17 Local Government Areas, reaching over 3,486 direct beneficiaries through three core thematic areas designed to address the most pressing challenges of our time:
Environmental Health & Protection: Promoting circular economies, protecting ecosystems, and advancing climate action and environmental justice.
Food Security: Strengthening local food systems through sustainable agriculture and food processing, and promoting access to nutrition.
Community Development: Improving access to essential care, building community resilience, and promoting local sustainable development through tailored integrated interventions in health, education, human rights advocacy, SGBV prevention, philanthropy, and community engagement.
We don’t impose outside solutions; we know that deep, meaningful change starts from within, built hand-in-hand and grown together by our communities. We believe that for change to be permanent, it must be rooted in local knowledge and lived experience. By partnering directly with the people we serve, we ensure that every intervention is driven by the community, for the community.
Real, lasting change starts with people who care. By volunteering with VOICER, you bring your unique skills and passion directly to the communities that need them most. Whether you are leading a local workshop, supporting our environmental initiatives, or helping manage project logistics, your time and talent directly empower families and build resilient communities across Nigeria.
Driven by deep grassroots experience and a shared commitment to social impact, our team works side by side with local communities across Nigeria to create lasting, self-sustaining change.
