As part of the Community Health Intervention Project (CHI-Project), Voice of Community & Environmental Rights Initiative (VOICER) in partnership with Seadove GSL, conducted a community needs assessment to highlight key challenges affecting the people of Ikot Ntuen Community, Onna LGA in Akwa Ibom State. The assessment was held at the Community Head’s palace, Etteidung Ubong Ekanem Tom with other stakeholders, highlighted key challenges affecting the community people due to oil exploration activities. They explained that despite being one of the oil producing communities in Akwa Ibom State, they have been marginalized and neglected.
VOICER noted key health issues within the community and is committed to providing, in collaboration with the nearest primary healthcare facility, basic and surgical treatment to affected people in Ikot Ntuen Community.
